* INTRO NOTES for ANPOP Sample FCAST.

You can request a Demo Version of ANPOP2-SP1 for a Single Project or ANPOP3-MP1 depending on whatyou want to forecast.   

You can also request a Sample Forecast for 1 of the programs to keep for reference and as a guide to using the software.

Or you can make a Sample Fcast when you do your 1st ANPOP Trial Run as explained below.

The next section has instructions on how to run your 1stst ANPOP Trial Run, and to make file for the sample forecast already saved in ANPOP Program as entries for the previous fcast.

The sample fcast is for sheep in one version of ANPOP, and for cattle in the other version depending on the revision date of the Demo Version you request to try.  

As the program is running, EACH STATEMENT WITH A QUESTION MARK (?) IS A PROMPT FOR THE FCAST, where the user enters info for that fcast.

Some prompts change depending on your prior entries because the program uses your entries to set realistic limits or range for later entries you will make.  

In some cases, the prompt will be repeated if you make a mistake, or your entry is out of the required range, or you make an entry that is not realistic for a prior entry.

The ANPOP software is easy to use, and THE MOST IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT IS FOR THE USER TO KNOW

ABOUT THE ANIMAL HE OR SHE IS FORECASTING.

Trial Forecast usually takes from about half-hour to 1 hour if you know about the animal that you are forecasting.

User can save a file for each forecast as a TEXT FILE, so you can open it with a basic word-prcsr like MS-NOTEPAD, to see the prompts and your entries, as well as the results while the ANPOP Prgm was running.

Alternatively, you can open the file with a more advance word-processor like MS-WORD to show separate pages. Then you can edit it to include in a report, etc.

Or, if when ANPOP asks IF YOU WANT A PRINT-OUT?, your response is Y, then it will print-out only your entries and results to put in a report (exluding prompts, and mistakes etc.)

You can print-out to a file such as a PDF file depending on the capability of your printer.

A Demo Version of ANPOP2-SP1 or ANPOP3-MP1 will be given to potential users on request, so you can try the version you are interested in before you buy it.

The entries for the Sample Fcast in the 1ST ANPOP TRIAL RUN are realistic,

but mostly 5 or 10, or 100, or multiples of 5 or 10, or 100,

so that these results will be easier to check if you want to.

Many results are the ANPOP for each year,

+ or - or x or div by your entry for that year,

+ or - the % chg for that year.

Dont forget the % chg when applicable,  

if you try to check the results.

HOW TO DO THE 1ST ANPOP TRIAL RUN

 AND MAKE A SAMPLE FORECAST FILE.

Below is a summary of some of the most points in the ANPOP Intro File about how to do the 1st ANPOP Trial Run.

1st) Instructions & Other Info is in each software at the place where needed to run each prgm.

2nd) The ANPOP Software will automatically save yout entries while you run it.

A SAMPLE FCAST IS ALREADY SAVED FOR EACH PROGRAM THE FIST TIME YOU RUN IT.

This sample fcast will show you an example of the prompts and realistic entries for that animal, and the results ANPOP will compute.

3rd) After you install the SETUP Prgm, it will create a file for the prgm, for exa. ANPOP2-SP1-rev-4-6-15.

DO NOT SAVE ANYTHING IN THIS ANPOP PRGM FOLDER OR INTERFERE WITH IT IN ANY WAY

or the software will not work OK.

4th MAKE A SEPARATE FOLDER TO SAVE YOUR WORK.

5th) Click on the ANPOP icon on your desk-top

     or on the ANPOP Program in Windows Start-Menu.  

6th) when you do your 1st ANPOP Trial Run,

you should enter Y (for Yes) every time you are asked

if you want each kind

of results.

However, you should enter N (for No) every time you are asked if you want

to change your entries.

7th) SAVE THE SAMPLE FCAST (currently for Sheep or Cattle,) IN THE FOLDER YOU MADE for your work.

Use filenames that are easy to identify their contents, for exa.;

ANPOP2 Single-PROJ1 v10yrs Sheep Sample Fcast-5-15.TXT

Or ANPOP3 Multi-PROJ1 v10yrs Cattle Sample  Fcast-5-15.TXT
